Finally I am blogging again! Spring and summer seemed to have come all at once, and I couldn't be more glad of it! I have been outside every chance I have had, Emma too, we are loving the green grass. It is so fun to see your child experience the world for the first time. I know that sounds like what everyone says, but it is really fun to see. This is a picture of Emma outside Grandma and Grandpa Silletto's house. I will try to keep you better updated in the future.

SALE!

So yes I am plugging my shop yet again...baby needs a new pair of shoes!  I marked all of my scarves down at least 40%!  So check it out, I love them, but they gotta go!  I am just tired of the look of winter.  Spring is directly around the corner and I want to welcome it with open arms...and neck.  So I don't really need scarves for that.  I know they will be a necessity again next winter.  So buy them now save them and it will be a little surprise for the start of next winter!  Ok so I am done, hope you are having a wonderful spring day!

Poor Guster

Our siamese cat Guster is very neurotic.  When we first set up the nursery and kicked him out of that room he started pulling out his fur.  After Emma was born his tail was almost bald.  After this last vacation we came home and his back is now bald too.  Poor cat, I am not sure what to do!  But this whole blog doesn't have to be about a cat, how lame would that be...hmmm?  It was so nice here today, it was 40ยบ and the snow was melting.  Pretty soon I will be back outside and I cannot wait!  The gallery is fairly slow right now, but we are going to have a new show coming up.  Kelly Thompson is next and I can't wait to see his work.  Ok that is all I got!  Have a great day!

Jak Random Art and Design

Today I am going to talk about a great shop I have found on Etsy!  Jak random art and design.  The jewelry with found imagery is fantastic.  The bracelet featured was made from recycled, items, including vinyl records.  The title is bicycle built for two, it runs for $15.00.  I am in love with this bracelet.  This shop has great variety of bracelets, also some great prints.  If you need an original gift, or just love funky jewelry you need out check out this shop!  Go to www.jakrandomart.etsy.com, you will love what you find!

Becka Boo

The first Etsy artist that I would like to feature is Becka Boo.  She has great baby onesies, baby  bibs, monster cards, and personalized baby and parent t-shirts!  I think she is a great talent and has a wonderfully colorful shop.  I am going to focus on her very original idea of tatto t-shirts personalized for parent and baby, very clever right?  The nice thing she does is allow you to put it on your own tee, so you can just order the transfer!  I say if you need baby gifts, or just love looking at a fun shop, check out beckaboo.etsy.com!

I'm Back

I am sure everyone has wondered, why no new blog?  Well I have returned to the land of snow. I loved the Caymans, but I did miss Emma.  I had such a relaxing time, learned to snorkel, parasail, even swam with stingrays!  I have to say the people of the Caymans were so friendly.  The water was the most beautiful teal.  I snorkeled and found several great conch shells and 2 sand dollars.  They actually did survive the trip back to Grand Forks!  My tan is starting to fade, but I can't wait to go back.  While I was gone the gallery was closed.  The day after I got home we put up a new show and had a gallery opening. It was a bit hectic to get right back to work, but the new show is great.  I am going to feature some exciting Etsy artists for my next couple of Blogs.  So enjoy and happy shopping!

Zombie Monkey

I sold a second item, it was a custom item...Zombie Monkey.  I think I am going to have to do a lot more of the zombie animals, it was way too much fun.  Tonight I will work on a couple of new ones, it is blizzarding out there.  I mailed out the oh so cool first zombie monkey and I hope his new family loves him.  I am starting to get ready for my trip to the Caymen Islands.  Short blog, but yeah I am a boring person...so have a great night and stay warm.

My First Sale!

I have now officially sold an item on Etsy!  I sold one of my favorites, the big brown monkey with detachable banana.  I did take an order for a zombie monkey, so I may even have two sales by the end of the week.  So I am on my way now with my little online store.  This week at the Gallery will be a nice relaxed one, last week we had an opening with our love show.  Next week a new show will go up, so I am going to enjoy the quiet.  On the 21st Derek and I head off to the Caymans, never been anywhere warm like that before, should be great.  Well I think that is all for now, so have a great rest of your day!

My very first blog entry!

Hello, so my very first blog entry, not exactly sure what to say...so here goes.  I am now a wife, mother, artist, and gallery owner.  My girlfriend Becky and I opened an art gallery about 2 years ago.  We have now grown and moved to a beautiful new space and completely love it.  My daughter is almost 14 mos old.  Her name is Emma and she is more challenging and amazing than I ever though a child could be!  My husband, Derek, is a first year resident.  He is learning all the ins and outs of being a doctor, he is gone a lot because first years tend to get all the call nights!  So that brings me to my art.  I am an artist struggling to find time to create, but I have been making time lately which is very exciting.  So now I am listening to an old Cardigans album that is still one of my favorites and trying to think of something cool to say in my very first blog entry!  I also make little stuffed animals, they are all on the right side of my page.  I sell them on Etsy, an amazing place for artists to sell work.  So you can check out my stuff at www.amyjoshandmade.etsy.com.
Have a great day!!
